About
1907, Dr. J. Z. Powell, late historian of Cass Co., IN informed by residents of
this area that the first person buried here, lies in an unmarked grave
“Mrs.[?] Irvin d.1857. Note that at least 3 other unmarked graves in this
location are older than that listed by Powell but it’s possible that those
were moved here at a date after 1907 from another cemetery.
Also:
can Powell have meant
Emma Jane Cast 1860 instead
of Edmond J?
Also:
Susan [Mrs. John Burton] 1863 not same as we recorded.
