Mrs. Elba Marie CUNNINGHAM BOURNE (1892 - 1918)

Obituary Kokomo Tribune -- Howard County, Indiana 8 January 1919

Mrs. Elba Marie BOURNE, daughter of John and Caroline CUNNINGHAM, was born at Peru, Ind., August 25, 1892 and departed this life December 19, 1918, aged 26 years, 3 months and 24 days.
On April 11, 1909 she was united in marriage to Norman BOURNE. Three children were born to this union: Mary, who preceeded her to the grave by eight years and Carl and Helen who survive.
Mrs. Bourne was converted and baptized together with her husband on December 15, 1910, just eight years ago last Sunday. They were received into full fellowship in North Street Baptist Church.
"Elba" as she was familiarly called was a dutiful daughter and loving wife and mother.
Her passing away will be greatly lamented by her husband and two children, father and mother, and three brothers, together with a host of other friends. It might well be said of her, " She hath done what she could".

JUELDA WREN DUCKWORTH JONES BUCHANAN

Charles Jones received a message on Friday that his mother, Mrs. Juelda Buchanan, was sick with grip at her home in Kokomo.  On Saturday she seemed better and up to Sunday morning, she was thought not to be dangerously ill.  At that time, she expressed a fear that the boys would not get to her in time to see her, alive, and after taking a drink of water, sank back on to her pillow dead.  Mr. and Mrs. Jones and son Paul attended the funeral on Tuesday. She leaves three sons, Samuel of Harrisburg, Ill; George of Camden, Indiana, and Charles.  By her second marriage, she leaves six daughters. She was 68 years old. - typed by kbz

Flossie BYRD, 66, Bunker Hill, died at her home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, following a short illness.
The decedent was born June 1, 1903, in Kokomo to Harvey and Mary (LANGLEY) SHIVELY, and married Claude BYRD May 27, 1949, in Kokomo.
Survivors include a son, Max PRICE, Bunker Hill; a sister, Mrs. Ella DEWEESE, Miami, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Peacock Funeral Home, Kokomo, with the Rev. J. McFarlene SMITH officiating.
Burial will be in the Albright Cemetery, Kokomo, IN
Friends may call at the funeral home today before 9 p.m.
