1875 Marriages

It was common for newspapers of this era to run a short article in the first few days of a month reporting the marriages of the previous month. The following transcript was made from an entry in the 1875 Chronology section of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Genealogy & Local History Services Vertical File. Unfortunately, no newspaper title or dates were provided, and July & December are missing. As more information is located, this page will be updated.

"The Polar wave was too severe last month for a multiplicity of marriages. The list is unparalled in the hymenial history of Howard County for paucity. The following persons obtained double blanket permits during the month of January"
