My name is Debby Beheler and I'm responsible for the Cass County INGenWeb site. Please contact me if you would like to contribute to this database or if you have suggestions or comments. Before emailing me with a question, please look over the site well. There is much information here including useful addresses and links. The answer may be just a click away. Please check the lookup page for assistance. Volunteers are here to assist, but cannot be expected to do extensive research for individual families. Please do not ask; consider posting a query on the Cass Co. Message Board. If you are interested in being an INGenWeb County Coordinator, then visit the Orphan Counties or contact me, the State Coordinator Cass County was named in honor of General Lewis Cass of Michigan, who was instrumental in the making of treaties with the Native Americans of the region. These treaties opened up the land in this area to white settlers. Cass County was formed by an act of the state legislature on December 18, 1828. Logansport is the county seat. Other towns in Cass County (and the year some were laid out) include: Royal Center (1845), Cicott (1870) (Lake Cicott), Georgetown (1860), Twelve Mile, Hoover (1872), New Waverly (1855), Lewisburg, (1834 or 1835), Clymers, Young America (1856), Lincoln (1851), Galveston (1854), Walton (Walltown-1852), Onward (Dow), Circleville, Anoka, Curveton, Metea and Adamsberg (Adamsborough).
