It is understood that a work of this kind is necessarily incomplete and only intended to cover the most important events. A special feature of the review is its record of marriages and deaths of persons known in the city and county.

1 January 1895 - W.P. HOFFERBERT and Miss Gretchen EYSENBAUGH married.
2 January 1895 - J.T. PICKETT given two years for embezzlement; Hugh PURSLEY one year for larceny.
5 January 1895 - Alice Louretta LANE fatally shot.
6 January 1895 - Death of Addison TUCKER of New London.
8 January 1895 - Death of Lewis WINBORN, aged 96; Martha MCANINCH of Russiaville sues the Clover Leaf asking for $10,000 in injuries.
10 January 1895 - Death of James MATTIX, aged 75 years.
12 January 1895 - Mrs. O.L. BITNER, of Greentown, suffocated by gas. Was fatal.
15 January 1895 - Sudden death of Hiram THOMPSON, aged 53 years. He died in a bus while being taken to the depot at be sent to the asylum.
18 January 1895 - Death of Nathan DIXON, aged 67 years.
20 January 1895 - Death of Catherine DEFFENBAUGH, aged 91 years.
21 January 1895 - Little child of David DOWNHOUR burned to death.
24 January 1895 - Death of Mrs. E.D. MCGUIRE; Horace LOOMIS adjudged insane and sent to the asylum.
25 January 1895 - Amos EUDAILY held for infanticide. Acquitted.
27 January 1895 - David GREESON celebrated his 80th birthday.
29 January 1895 - Officer WELTY sued for damages by SNYDER and WEYSER. They got none.
30 January 1895 - Death of Tatman GRIFFITH, aged73; John E. HOLMAN disappears. Still absent.
31 January 1895 - Bird ARMSTRONG of Taylor Township killed by a falling tree.

1 February 1895 - Calvin BROWN found dead in his chair, aged 58.
2 February 1895 - Hiram and Mrs. KLUM celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary; James ALVORD of Galveston, found dead.
7 February 1895 - Death of James SHORT; death of Mrs. DENNY
10 February 1895 - Mrs. Albert MCREYNOLDS of Alto, has four ribs broken in a runaway.
11 February 1895 - The COLE Drug store has a bad fire; Marion PEARCH arrested for forgery. Sent up for two years.
12 February 1895 - Death of Lewis MYERS, aged 57 years.
13 February 1895 - Mrs. ROBY decorates the soldiers of Co. L.
14 February 1895 - Sudden death of Mrs. Catharine ENRIGHT; Dr. J.T. SMITH stricken with paralysis. Recovers.
15 February 1895 - Death of W.R. PLOUGHE, aged 64 years.
19 February 1895 - O.S. WHITE and Lelia COFFMAN married; death of Mrs. M.J. COYNER.
20 February 1895 - Residence of William ETHERINGTON at West Middleton burned; George VAILE and Miss Flora SNYDER married; Death of Robert JOHNSON near Burlington, aged 82; "Jack the Peeper" at his best.

4 March 1895 - Lew BOWIE acquitted, cut the throat of Burlington saloonkeeper; Elam GIFFORD of New London and Miss Charity SMITH were married.
7 March 1895 - Death of Mirt HUNT at Waterbury, Conn.
12 March 1895 - Indictment against ex-Governor CHASE dismissed; Plate Glass combine completed.
13 March 1895 - Edwin STOUT and Emily COFFIN married; Death of O.T. MARNEY; death of Milton HAYNES; death of Mrs. Rhoda ALLISON.
